As Ayrton Senna drove through the Tamburello corner his
steering wheel appeared to break away in his hands. He
struggled violently for control, proving he was not
unconscious. Unable to regain
control his car hit the wall at nearly 200 mph. When Ayrton
Senna hit the wall on the Tamburello corner, the front left
suspension triangle broke. This steel triangle went through
Senna's helmet (see Figure 1 and Figure 2), and entered into
his skull.
