On April 28, 2000 at approximately 6:00 pm Pacific Time, monitoring software at Virtual Space
Networks, Inc., (VSNI) indicated that multiple servers in its network were not responding. These
servers are all located in the same co-location facility of a major Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Shortly thereafter, VSNI staff telephoned the ISP that was providing the 100 megabit per second
connection. This connection is one of the multiple 100 megabit per second connections of VSNI. The
support staff at the co-location facility stated that the ISP has denied service due to "objectionable
content." This denial of service from a major bandwidth provider was performed without any
advance notice on a Friday evening after all individuals with the ability to end the denial of service
had left the office. The staff of VSNI have called telephone numbers of all contacts with this ISP
multiple times (supervisors, customer support, and salesmen). At this point all of VSNI's efforts have
been futile and employees at the ISP have all stated that nothing can be performed without speaking
to their supervisors who are currently unreachable. Emails have been sent to all of VSNI's contact
addresses at the ISP. We are going to continue the effort to regain service and we will exhaust every
resource available to end the denial of service. The servers that have been affected by the denial of
service are inclusive of, but not limited, to the following:
